Free Outdoor Gym
The LifeTrail® Advanced Wellness System is located at the south end of the walking track at Fairgrounds Park and is open to anyone. The accessible equipment has pictorial instructions to follow while exercising. Warm up with a lap around the track and then do a workout on the LifeTrail® Advanced Wellness System.

Golfing Season Passes On Sale
Golfers get their money’s worth when buying a season pass for Forest Park and Creekside Golf Courses. The season passes are available for individuals, juniors, seniors, and combo play. Forest Park golf league members can use their passes for league play greens fees. Pricing can be found on the web at www.valparaisogolf.com or in the clubhouse of either golf course.

Earth Day for Ages 2 to 5
The second annual “Plant a Tree Day” for kids will be on Wednesday, April 22 at Discovery Cottage. Kids will learn about native Indiana trees from the City’s Horticulture Division. They will also assist in planting a young tree that they can watch grow year after year. The event is from 11 AM to 12 PM and is free. Call 462-5144 to register.

Discovery Camps for Summer
Registration is already available for the weekly, outdoor camps for ages 3 to 5, grades K - 6th, and grades 7 - 9. Beginning June 8, camps are Monday through Friday at Rogers-Lakewood Park with a different theme each week. Kids bring their own lunch through Thursday, with pizza served on Fridays! Discovery Camp is a quality program that keeps kids active as they discover the outdoors, make new friends, and try different activities. Counselors are certified and have passed a background check. Themes and prices are available at www.ValpoParks.org under Programs, Summer Camps.

Take a Kid Fishing
Sponsored by Friends of Fishing at Rogers-Lakewood Park, registration is available through Valpo Parks. Kids fish for free in casting games and longest fish awards in several categories on Saturday, June 6 from 8:00 AM to noon.

Bikin’ and Eggs Family Ride
A three-mile round trip leisurely ride and Valpo Pathways between Foundation Meadows to Lakewood takes place on Saturday, June 26. The ride begins at 9:00 AM. Registered riders get a t-shirt and a light breakfast upon their return to Foundation Meadows. Price is $10 per person until June 15 (t-shirt guaranteed). A family of 3 is $25, with each additional member at $10. Registration continues after June 15, with t-shirts available on a first come, first served basis.

Valpo Tri Registration
Saturday, July 11 is the annual Valpo Triathlon, a sprint distance triathlon that starts in Rogers-Lakewood Park with a quarter mile swim in Loomis Lake, transitions to a 12-mile bike route on county roads and ends with 5K run on the Lakewood Link pathway into Rogers-Lakewood. Register online at ValpoTri.net. Maximum registration is 400 people.
