Valpo Parks Kid's Closet Sale
Valpo Parks is proud to be the new coordinator of the Kid's Closet Sale previously coordinated by Mother's & More. Over 30 vendors under one roof selling gently used infant, toddler, and children apparel, toys, furniture and more! Saturday, April 30 from 8 am - noon. Cash sales only. Admission per person for age 18 & up $3 before 9am, $2 after 9am. Also seeking vendors. For more information, and vendor registration, contact the Valpo Parks office via phone or in person.

Youth Baseball
Registrations are now being accepted for Cal Ripken Major League Boys Baseball-- ages 11 & 12. Game dates are April 30 - End of June. Register by March 2. Cost $74 resident, $86 non-resident. Contact the Valpo Parks office via phone or in person.

Banta Center History Presentation
On Friday, March 18, 2016 at 1:00PM Kevin Pazour, Porter County Museum Curator, will give a presentation on the rich history of the Banta Senior Center. The building has undergone several changes in its 100 history which includes being the former location of the Banta School. All community members are welcome to attend. Please call 462-1301 to reserve a spot. If you are a former Banta School student, please come to share your experience. The Banta Center is located at 605 Beech Street.

Coin Collecting Class
Class participants learn the history, what to look for, how to display, and appreciation aspects regarding coins and collecting them. Each bill or coin’s design, composition and condition lead to its true value, both real and intrinsic. Taught by a practicing numismatist who is also a coin and bullion dealer, the class is three Tuesday sessions: March 15, 22, and 29 at Banta Center, 605 Beech Street, from 6:00 to 7:00 PM. Wedding Dance Class
Students learn a variety of dance steps perfect to impress at weddings or social gatherings, including the nightclub two-step, Rumba and traditional slow dance. The six week session is for those ages 16 and older, on Mondays April 4 - May 9 from 6:15 to 7:30 PM. Classes are held at Fred Astaire Dance Studios, 2759 Morthland Dr. Couples pay $78 for city residents, $90 for non-residents; individuals are $43/55. Holland, MI Day Trip
Beauty, fun and culture wrapped into one exciting day in Holland, MI. Located along the coast of Lake Michigan, Holland has a rich history and heritage to share with its visitors. The trip includes a walk through Windmill Island, lunch at Haworth Center in Hope College, shopping on one’s own in Downtown Holland, a wine-tasting reception, and motor coach transportation to and from Holland, MI. The motor coach leaves at 7:30 am and returns at 6:30 pm. Reserve early for the Friday, May 13 excursion. Price is $89.00 per person.

On April 23 and 24, 2016, Valpo Parks is planning an activity-filled girlfriends getaway weekend in downtown Valparaiso, IN. An exciting itinerary is planned as lady guests will enjoy downtown merchant discounts, wine/beer tasting, food served by some of Northwest Indiana's finest restaurants, a Saturday evening dinner party which includes entertainment and fashion show at the new William E. Urschel Pavilion in downtown Valparaiso, Sunday brunch and much more. Overnight and day package rates available. Pre-registration is required.
