Ice Skating Season at Central Park Closes Sunday, March 6, 2016

Valpo-Central-Park-Ice-rink-2016The first full ice skating season comes to a close this weekend in downtown Valpo. Almost 50,000 skaters have enjoyed ice skating and other activities at Central Park Plaza since the grand opening in November! “The staff at the rink has just done an outstanding job this fall/winter and we can’t thank them enough” said Parks Director John Seibert

The Parks office has announced the last day for ice skating under the William E. Urschel Pavilion is Sunday, March 6th. Skaters may take advantage of final open skate hours on Thursday, March 3rd 12:00 noon -10:00 p.m., Friday, March 4th 4:00-10:00 p.m., Saturday, March 5th 11:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m. and Sunday, March 6th 10:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m. Hockey will meet Sunday, March 6th 7:00-10:00 p.m. Skate admission is $5.00 per person. Skate rental is $3.00 per person.

2016 marks the first time for year-round activity at Central Park Plaza since it was completed in 2011. Now the William E. Urschel Pavilion and Indiana Beverage Activity Center are being prepared for upcoming occasions and events during the warmer months. Valpo Parks wishes to thank the community for its fantastic support during the inaugural season of ice skating as it looks forward to serving the community with another exciting spring/summer schedule.
