Foundation’s Unique Creekside Classic Raises Money for Valpo Parks

More than two dozen junior golfers age 12 and under participated in the Creekside Classic For Kids Skills competition on July 20 at Creekside Golf Course and Training Center in Valparaiso. Juniors competed in six skill areas and the winners were:

Eight and Under:

  • Putt – Aiden Hipp
  • Chip – Parker Lewis
  • Pitch – Ainsley Vice
  • Sand – Aiden Hipp
  • Longest Drive – Aiden Hipp
  • Three Hole play– Aiden Hipp

Nine and Ten Year Olds:

  • Putt – Ian Stacy
  • Chip – Jacob Kusbel
  • Pitch – Ian Stacy
  • Sand – Ethan Poisel
  • Long drive – Ian Stacy
  • Three Hole play– Brie Alex

Eleven and Twelve Year Olds:

  • Putt – Harrison Odle
  • Chip – Dakota Stacy
  • Pitch – Harrison Odle
  • Sand – Logan Vice
  • Long drive – Dakota Stacy
  • Three Hole – Dakota Stacy

The afternoon 12-hole scramble, which consists of two adults and two juniors in each foursome, was won by BLUE CHIP with junior golfers Aaron Koch and Ian Stacy, paired with Nicki Angotti and Dan Angotti with a score of 37. Second place finish wient to team AM Stabilizers with junior golfers Jacob Kusbel and Ben Driscoll, paired with Frank Kusbel and Rich Waters with a score of 39. Placing third with a 40 was Team Civanich consisting of junior players Mark Civanich and Andrew Karr and adults Steve Civanich and Kurt Schmiegel.

This one of a kind outing gives kids an opportunity to play in a real shotgun start, best ball outing. The Classic for Kids benefits the Valpo Parks Foundation in its mission to continue the quality of the community parks system. The 2018 Creekside Classic will be held Thursday, July 19, 2018.
