Key members of the StoryPoint senior living community of Chesterton, gave members of Ideas in Motion Media and Blue Sky Financial the inside scoop of their new facility on Monday afternoon.
Alongside members of Blue Sky Financial Partners, Ideas in Motion Media were treated to cocktails, h’ordeuvres and a tour of some of the finished models at the 700 Dickinson Road location. Projected to open at the beginning of August, Judy Kukelka, Business Development Specialist for StoryPoint, was excited to share.
“We are pre-selling, and our two-bedrooms are going really fast,” stated Kukelka.
Community Specialist JJ Swiatkowski lead the way around the property while construction was underway. The three-story facility is projected to have 42 enhanced care and 120 independent care apartments, three fine dining restaurants, including a pub and bistro where all the food is made from scratch daily, as well as a salon, library, media center, recreational center, art studio, and movie theater.
“The woman I just gave a tour to, her husband passed away a few years ago and she has three acres, she misses the socialization, she can’t drive at night…she can drive during the day but when it starts getting dark, you start worrying about getting back home. Here you can do whatever you want, there is always something going on, there’s always an opportunity to do something and walk right back to your apartment,” stated Swiatkowski.
Some of the design highlights include a 10- foot ceiling, sophisticated yet modern models on the first floor, stylish dark wood cabinetry and an infinite amount of natural light. Some of the two-bedroom models even come with a fireplace.
“I love their amenities as well as all of their living options, from 10-foot ceilings to walk out apartments. They have different apartment styles to help your loved one live best,” said Jenny Craig-Brown of Ideas in Motion Media.
StoryPoint will also cater to residents needing independent or enhanced living services, as well as those requiring an in-house certified Dementia and Alzheimer’s practitioner.
“Our care services are what set us apart. Laurus is our private home healthcare company and our care staff are available 24/7. We staff to our residents needs,” said Swiatkowski.
Candace Arvin of Ideas in Motion Media expressed that Story Point was “such a great addition to the community.”
Todd Wooten, the President of Blue Sky Financial Partners stressed the importance of “community.” Wooten stated that his company takes the journey with his clients, “to retirement, through retirement and beyond retirement.
Some citizens of the neighborhood community have already preregistered. According to Swatkowski, a very high number of apartments have already had a deposit placed on them. The grand opening is projected for Wednesday, August 1st, 2018.
