Valpo Students Raise Support for Homeless

In the afternoon of December 5th, Don Quijote Restaurante will be hosting a fundraising all-you-can-eat to raise support for Housing Opportunities, Inc., Northwest Indiana’s premier provider of housing hope. More than 100 Spanish Club students from Valparaiso High School are helping to sell tickets to the fundraiser, and asking local businesses to donate items and services for the event’s raffle and silent auction. housing-opportunities

Most of you have a comfortable home to return to after school” said Carlos Rivero, Owner of Don Quijote Restaurante in Valparaiso. “Some of your fellow classmates may not have it so good. They may be homeless! Now here is your opportunity to do something to help them,” Carlos said.

Tickets for the December 5th event have been selling well,” said Kevin Feldman, Resource Development Director for Housing Opportunities. “One reason is that most people have a sincere desire to help homeless families. Another reason is that these young people are motivated – they care. When these young men and women come knocking at your door, please give them your time.” Kevin said.

On December 5th from noon to 5:00 PM, you can enjoy all you want of delicious, authentic Spanish food, entertainment, and silent auction – all for only $35. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to Housing Opportunities to help homeless families, and prevent homelessness in Northwest Indiana.
