March 30th has been designated as Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day across the nation, celebrating the day that U.S. troops officially ended the military effort in Vietnam. American Legion Post 94 in Valparaiso will be hosting a local observance of Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day with a ceremony at noon, outside of the Post’s location on Monroe Street.
The ceremony will feature a color guard, followed by several speakers, including B.J. McGuire, Post Commander, and Auxiliary President Marlene Baum. Afterwards, a lunch will be held, open to all Vietnam veterans.
