United Way Success By 6 Honors Sally Gaff with “Service to Children Award”

United-Way-Sally-Gaff-Leslie-JohnsonUnited Way of Porter County has recognized Sally Gaff with the 2nd Annual Northwest Indiana Success By 6 “Service to Children Award”. Gaff serves as the Director of All About Kids, an early intervention program at Opportunity Enterprises. Given at United Way of Porter County’s Annual Celebration earlier this month, this award recognizes a professional or volunteer who demonstrates absolute dedication in making a difference in the field of early childhood education.

We are honored to present this award to Sally who has worked in early childhood development for over 20 years,” stated Leslie Johnson, United Way’s Success By 6 Coordinator.

Gaff is actively involved in implementing the changes that frequently come from the First Steps program. At the state level, she attends monthly meetings in Indianapolis to ensure that Porter County is represented in how First Steps is administered statewide. She demonstrates the ability to be flexible with changes in the program and puts the needs of young children first.

Gaff is highly admired by fellow staff members because she demonstrates the highest quality of integrity and dedication to her profession,” added Johnson. She has assisted in providing scholarships for kids needing help to attend play group, an important piece of the developmental puzzle for children. She works with service providers to ensure children have comprehensive care and regularly seeks out ways to find out how to transition kids in and out of the First Steps program once all their needs have been met.
