Valparaiso Friends of Folds of Honor Seeking Patriot Golf Day Sponsors

The Folds of Honor Foundation funds educational scholarships for children whose military parent has been killed or disabled in the line of duty. Patriot Golf Day was created specifically to raise money for this cause with over $3.7 million raised in 2011.

Friends of Folds of Honor, Valparaiso, Indiana, held an extremely successful Inaugural event in 2011 at The Course at Aberdeen - placing 10th in the nation amongst over 4,500 participating golf facilities.

Local Patriot Golf Day activities for 2012 have been expanded to include an evening of patriotic music performed by the nationally renowned Joliet Illinois American Legion Band Saturday, September 1st. This tribute concert will be held at the Porter Health Amphitheater at Central Park Plaza in downtown Valparaiso. Concert goers will have an opportunity to picnic in the park with dinner and refreshments available onsite from Suzie’s Café & Catering.

This year’s Patriot Golf Day event will be held at The Course at Aberdeen on Sunday, September 2, 2012, with tee times available at both 7 AM and 12 PM. Cost of the scramble golf event is $100 per player. To register, please contact either The Course at Aberdeen, 219-462-5050 or Bob Carnagey, bobcarnagey@msn.com or 219-548-9825.

Post golf activities for friends and families as well as golfers on September 2nd include a picnic dinner sponsored, in part, by Suzie’s Café & Catering. Cost of the picnic is included in golfers’ registration. Cost for non-golfers is $10 for adults and $5 for children. A fireworks display, generously provided by Johnny Rockets, Highland, will take place at dusk.

Corporate and individual sponsorships are available. Donations of raffle/auction items, such as a gift certificate from your establishment or any type of sports or golf related items are also appreciated. Any support you or your business can provide to aid us in our efforts to assist this invaluable cause is greatly appreciated. Your generosity will be appropriately acknowledged in all print, radio and other media, as well as in a variety of ways during the event itself.

As local host, I am available to discuss all opportunities with you at any time. Email me at bobcarnagey@msn.com. Please visit www.foldsofhonor.org for more information on the Folds of Honor Foundation, which is a 501(c) 3 charitable organization.
