20% of all May 6th Tickets Sales Donated to The Food Bank of NWI

foodbank-nwi-boxesThe Listen To Your Mother Show: NW Indiana is pleased to announce that it will donate 20% of the proceeds from every ticket sale on Tuesday, May 6th to Food Bank of Northwest Indiana.

The Listen To Your Mother (LTYM) show brings local writers together to read their original pieces on motherhood in honor of Mother’s Day. Each of the 32 cities that host LTYM shows nationwide picks a local non-profit from which they share 10% of all their ticket proceeds from the show.

Northwest Indiana director/producer Lovelyn Palm decided to increase the amount of the donation for 24 hours on May 6th after touring the Food Bank of NWI’s facilities and hearing more about their programs. Non-perishable food items will also be collected the on the night of the show to be donated to Food Bank of NWI.

The Food Bank of NWI serves as a food distributor to almost 100 local pantries and soup kitchens. They also have several programs that help the community including a backpack program to meet the needs of hungry children on the weekends & Pantry on the Go program that serves areas where there aren’t food pantries.

Steve Beekman, Development Director for Food Bank of NWI says, “The Food Bank is excited to be partnering with Listen to Your Mother on this wonderful event celebrating mothers and all they do for their families. The donations from this event will help us continue to assist mothers and families in need.”

We are excited to give to this critically important organization to help those in our region. Please help us give even more by buying your tickets to the show today and helping us spread the word!
