A Magic Carpet Ride for the Salvation Army

As part of the United Way’s Day of Caring, Tudor Carpet One (aka Tudor Floors) of Valparaiso has given a wonderful gift to The Salvation Army.  They donated beautiful brand new carpeting for the front offices and reception area to The Salvation Army of Porter County in South Haven.  The officers, employees, corps members, and volunteers wish to send a heartfelt thank you to Tudor Floors for their kindness and generosity.

The building where The Salvation Army of Porter County currently resides was built in 1966.  The carpet was the original from that era, a shade of orange that was certainly very popular at that time.  After over 40 years of use, it had become a burnt orange eyesore covered with stains and strips of duct tape.  Tudor Floors, located at 605 Silhavy Road in Valparaiso, is working with The Salvation Army to make sure that every bit of the orange carpeting will be replaced with brand new flooring.

Special thanks to Jan and Mauri Stump, owners of Tudor Carpet One, for organizing the project and arranging for installation.  The Salvation Army of Porter County is grateful for this amazing gift.
