Six local charities will benefit from proceeds of the 2014 Mayor’s Charity Beatles Bash in Valparaiso. Recipients include:
- Valparaiso Firefighters Local 1124 – Hoosier Burn Camp
- Project Neighbors – Neighbors Place
- VNA Phoenix Center – Healing Garden
- Rebuilding Together Valparaiso
- PACT
- Housing Opportunities
Each year since 2005, Mayor Jon Costas has held a charity event to celebrate the year and raise money for local non-profits. This year the bash will be held on Friday, July 25 at Central Park Plaza featuring the band American English to commemorate the Beatles’ 50th Anniversary here in the United States. Since 2005, 35 local non-profits in Valparaiso and Porter County have shared more than $283,000 in funds for work within the community.
