United Way of Porter County Welcomes New Board Members

uwpc-new-board-oct-2014United Way of Porter County (UWPC) is pleased to welcome its two newest board members, J.J. Peller and Carl Wenz, who will both serve 3-year terms.

J.J. Peller is a Financial Advisor at Merrill Lynch Bank of America in Merrillville, Ind., where he helps individuals and families manage their personal finances more effectively. Peller is a graduate of Wabash College and is an active member of the Wabash College Alumni Group of Northwest Indiana and Phi Delta Theta - Indiana Beta. He is also a member of United Way of Porter County’s Young Leaders United and a chamber member of the Crossroads Regional Chamber of Commerce.

Wenz is the co-founder and CFO of Green Sense Farms in Portage, Ind. As the CFO, he is accountable for administrative, financial and risk management operations. Wenz is a graduate of Western Michigan University, where he earned his CPA, and is an active member of the Valparaiso YMCA and Valparaiso Country Club. Before moving to Indiana, Wenz sat on the Board of Directors for the Barrington Area United Way in Barrington, Ill.

As board members, Peller and Wenz will be advocates for UWPC. They will be required to serve on a minimum of one committee, act as visionary guides for staff, support the mission of UWPC and serve as goodwill ambassadors in the Porter County community.
