FOP-Donates-over-200-Food-BasketsThe Valparaiso Police Department Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 76 donated over 200 food baskets on Saturday to local food pantries. Annually Valparaiso Police Officers organizes a food drive during the Holiday Season to help Valparaiso residents in need.

On Saturday morning off-duty officers delivered over 200 food baskets to local food pantries and Housing Opportunities. The food is donated to local families who are in need during the Holiday Season. Over 30 off-duty officers participated and assisted to deliver the food baskets.

This year Walmart assisted with the food and packaging of the baskets. Bob McCasland of Budget Rental donated a rental truck to be used to transport the food. A local Cub Scout pack also assisted with unloading the truck during the event.

Members of Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 76 would like to thank all community members that donated funds to this year’s event and without your support this event could not take place.
