The United Way Regional Volunteer center and The Valparaiso University girls’ softball team have a program called I Need a Hug to provide small new stuffed animals to children in crisis in the school system.
The I Need a Hug program has a wonderful opportunity to raise money that will enable us to purchase new, stuffed animals in bulk at a reduced rate. I Need a Hug then supplies the
animals to any school wanting to implement the Reading Buddies program.
We have expanded when we found out that those same stuffed animals can be used to assist in literacy! On Sunday, November 15th, ALL purchases made at ANY Barnes & Noble using the attached voucher or code at bottom of voucher, will net the I Need a Hug program 10-15% of all sales. The success of this book fair will depend on sharing the bookmarks with as many staff, PTO members, family, friends, etc. as possible so the money can be used to buy the stuffed animals at a reduced price and guarantee we will always have enough animals to support the
Counselors and Reading Buddies.
Remember, Barnes and Nobles all across the country will donate 10-15 % of your order on November 15th 2009 to I Need a Hug to help us provide stuffed animals to the children. Share this voucher and date with EVERYONE!
