Valpo Non-Profit Succeeds to Raise Cribs for Infants in Need

vu-cribathon-2015Valparaiso University student Logan Mulvihill, founder of non-profit BridgeMe Youth, conducted the first annual “Crib-a-Thon” donation event to raise cribs for infants and families in need. After a three week campaign to raise a goal of $1500 to provide 30 cribs, BridgeMe Youth ended up raising $1600 to purchase 32 cribs for the local Family Youth and Service Bureau.

Mulvihill started the campaign on his university’s campus after 11 months of building up BridgeMe Youth as a legitimate non-profit. With the help of his fraternity, Lambda Chi Alpha-Iota Sigma Zeta, Mulvihill was able to acquire donations through established campus connections such as Valpo Greek Life and other student organizations.

The campaign was a dream that Mulvihill finally saw become a reality, a work of progress started back when Mulvihill was inspired to impact youth health. “What inspired me to start Crib-a-Thon was knowing that infants are in need and I have the opportunity to make a difference” said Mulvihill. After BridgeMe Youth’s successful campaign, Mulvihill was thankful of the Valparaiso University community saying “having these cribs will greatly impact the community by giving infants a safe and comfortable place to sleep.”

BridgeMe Youth is non-profit organization that provides awareness, resource provision, and education to improve childhood health in underserved communities around the world.
