Best-Buddies-logoOften when families fall upon challenging times, it is not only family members that feel the effects, but family pets as well. Torch Club members of Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County’s Portage Club decided they wanted to make a difference for families and their pets who may need a little extra help. Partnering with Best Buddies Pet Pantry, this young group of civic-minded individuals began holding a Pet Food Drive on April 6th. Torch Club members accepting generous gifts of canned dog and cat food, dog biscuits, and cat treats and encouraging individuals to drop off such items at the Portage Boys& Girls Club, located at 5895 Evergreen Avenue, through May 13th. The goal of the Pet Food Drive is to keep families and their pets together! For more information, contact Mark Woolum at (219) 762-4613.
