Strack & Van Til Helps to Make Dayspring’s Zombie Run Wickedly Awesome

As you all know, nonprofits work via the generosity of their communities. Volunteers, individual donations, and local business sponsorships and involvement are what keep these organizations going.

One business that is greatly involved in the community is Strack & Van Til. You see them at many community events. And Strack & Van Til 2168 on Highway 30 was highly immersed in Dayspring’s Zombie Run.

“Strack & Van Til believes it is important to not only be a member of the community, but to also help support and grow the community in which we are a part of. Taking an active role in the development of the community and giving back wherever possible,” Joshua Piech, Store Director of Strack & Van Til 2168 said.

"We believe that if we are going to sponsor or make a donation for an event, that we should also be directly involved. Being directly involved gives us a better opportunity to get in touch with our community and have some fun while doing so," Piech said.

The participants had a great time. It was a great course and a lovely, sunny day for a run. Some dressed up and put on gruesome makeup to get the complete zombie picture. The winner, Ralph Nurse, finished the race with a time of 16:36.5.

Proceeds generated from the Zombie Run benefitted Dayspring Women’s Center, and they are able to continue their mission of serving the women and children of Valparaiso. Thanks to the giving nature of those from Strack & Van Til and the rest of the community, this great entity can keep on giving.
