“The Caring Place” Receives Donation from First United Methodist’s 2015 “Breakfast with St. Nicholas”!

Caring-Place-FUMC-Donation-2015On December 12th, First United Methodist held their annual "Breakfast With St. Nicholas" fundraiser. This event brings together children of all ages for a wonderful breakfast, crafting, and of course, a visit from St. Nicholas himself! Director of Children's Ministries and event planner, Karyn Custer-Jankowski said, "this year, $525.00 was raised and this amount doubled donations from years' past.

We were thrilled to be able to present "The Caring Place" with this amount and we hope others are encouraged to support this wonderful organization financially as well. The church also erects a "Mitten Tree" every year and the members cover it, NOT with lights and ornaments but with cold weather items. Hundreds of mittens, scarves, and hats were presented to "The Caring Place' for distribution to needy families. "It's so nice to be able to have so much fun at an event AND be doing something special for the community at the same time. I'm so grateful to all my "Elves" who volunteered their time and talents to make this such a successful event!"
