iGive.com has presented a challenge nationwide to all of its member charities, and Porter County Habitat for Humanity can benefit from the challenge with your help!
For each person who joins iGive.com using the special link below and does just one qualified web search on the website between now and noon Thursday, iGive will give Porter County Habitat for Humanity a dollar.
5,000 new members, $5,000. No purchase necessary. That's 5,000 new members for all causes, not just ours, so it's a bit of race.
Of course, if these new members search more (or buy something at an iGive store) they'll earn even more money for Habitat. Right now, iGive is donating a special $.02 per search and a bonus $5 for that first purchase plus the usual percentage. 
Porter County Habitat for Humanity is pretty cool and deserves your support (especially since this method of assisting is free!) Habitat is an ecumenical Christian ministry dedicated to providing decent, affordable housing throughout Porter County. Established in 1994, our affiliate has completed ten houses, serving 40 people in ten families, and we are preparing to dedicate our latest completed duplex at the end of January. Homes are sold to partner families at no profit and are financed with no-interest mortgages. HFH receives no government funds that are directly designated for home construction. Local residents, churches, and businesses support our work through their generous donations of labor, funds, and equipment -- which is why your help in this "blitz build" of web searchers/doners can be very important!

The details on the contest (legalese and such):
- Offer active between now and 11:59 a.m., January 21, 2010 (Chicago time).
- New members only (never have been an iGive member previously). All the normal rules of membership, searching, and purchasing apply, and the iGive.com site has the details.
- Once the company has given away $5,000 in total, the offer ends -- so it's VERY important that you click through SOONER rather than LATER.
- The special link is important. No link, no qualified web search, no $1 to help Habitat for Humanity.
