The Social and Recognition Committee of Franciscan St. Anthony Health Collects Snacks for Safe Harbor Summer Camp

Franciscan-Snack-Drive-Safe-Harbor-Summer-Camp-2016The Social and Recognition Committee of Franciscan St. Anthony Health-Michigan City recently collected 6,744 packages of snacks for children attending this year’s Safe Harbor Summer Camp in the city.

The summer program builds values and friendships, provides educational experiences and teaches teamwork. Safe Harbor collaborates with the Michigan City Area Schools system, Michigan City Parks and Recreation Department, the Michigan City Public Library and the Lubeznik Center for the Arts.

Hospital committee members decided to organize the collection to provide treats for the approximately 130 participants attending the six-week camp, among them, from left Savannah Pickens, Trey Roberts, Haylee Pickens and Sanila Roberts. The Intensive Care Unit collected the most snacks. Also shown are hospital, Safe Harbor and Michigan City Area Schools representatives.
