Northwest Indiana McDonald’s Operators’ #PeppermintForPNW Raises Nearly $700 for Purdue Northwest Future Leaders Scholarships

A cup of coffee can accomplish a lot. It can jump start a day, it can bring people together, and for Northwest Indiana McDonald's Operators (NIMO), it can help support education in Northwest Indiana.

On November 6, 2016, NIMO hosted a #PeppermintForPNW, where throughout the entire day, $1 from every hot or iced peppermint beverages purchased at 11 participating McDonald's locations were donated to the Purdue University Northwest Future Leaders Scholarship Fund. Different teams from organizations and clubs associated with Purdue Northwest competed with each other to see which group could raise the most for the fund. The Men's Basketball team was the winning organization. The proceeds were presented to the Purdue University Northwest Men's Basketball Team, who were also presented with a McChampion trophy during the ceremony.
