The Porter County Chapter of the Izaak Walton League of America is excited to be working with graduate students in the Master of Science in Information Technology program this spring. Chapter member, Tammy Patterson connected students; Vigyan Jekileti, Kiran Kola and Abhilash Nalla with the chapter's Vice President, Gary Brown and their Executive Director, Annette Hansen, to build a fresh new website as part of the students' master graduate work. Kim Tomkiewicz, Advising and Internship Coordinator for the Department of Computing and Information Sciences at the university, oversees the students while they gain real-life experience in working with a not-for-profit group to develop website communications.
The site will focus on all the conservation practices Porter County Chapter does with community partners, on their own properties and through their youth conservation education programming. NWIconservation.org has been selected as the chapter's new URL and their goal is to unveil it by June 1, 2017.
