Hilltop Neighborhood House Kicks Off 2017 Childcare Scholarship Annual Campaign

On Thursday, April 27th, over 120 Hilltop Neighborhood House staff, students and board members gathered with their donors and supporters to kickoff both the 2017 Childcare Scholarship Annual Campaign to raise $30,000, and the premiere of Hilltop's new movie, produced by Jesse Bob Harper Inc, Productions titled "Hilltop Heroes."

Guests were greeted by volunteer ushers, and escorted to every classroom where they completed Hollywood themed child development projects based on the Indiana State Standards of the Kindergarten Readiness Program put out by the Indiana Department of Education, creating a fun way to learn what Hilltop does for their students.

Everyone preserved their hand prints on “Hilltop Boulevard," got autographs from Hilltop's star students, and wrapped it all up with a viewing of the movie. Hilltop serves over 150 students per year. 84% of their students receive scholarships to attend. Parents must be working or in school; fees are based on a sliding scale. 62% of enrolled families are below the poverty line. Thanks to the generous support of the community, Hilltop received $280,000 in scholarships last year. For more information, or if you know a family in need, please call (219)-477-4222
