Strack & Van Til Continues Legacy of Giving with American Cancer Society Donation

Representatives from the American Cancer Society gathered at the Highland Headquarters of Strack & Van Til this Thursday to accept a check from the Indiana grocery chain.

Jeff Strack, President and Chief Executive Officer of Strack & Van Til, was excited to be able to provide the donation of $45,323 to the organization.

“We’re always trying to make a difference and I hope this donation helps all the people you [American Cancer Society] serve,” remarked Strack.

This donation continues a trend of giving back that has defined the Strack & Van Til legacy for over 80 years. Charities including the Humane Society, Salvation Army, St. Jude Hospital, and Habitat for Humanity have all been longstanding causes they have backed.

Strack & Van Til raised this money through their Checkout Challenge, which allows customers to round up their purchases to the nearest dollar with the spare change going to the American Cancer Society.

American Cancer Society, looked forward to what the donation could mean for the organization, was more than grateful for this show of generosity.

“The funds will help cancer patients in need in Northwest Indiana, be that programs and services, transportation, free wigs; basically anything they might need the American Cancer Society for.”

This donation is just the latest in a busy month for Strack & Van Til. Just two weeks ago, the company held a ribbon cutting at it’s newly rebranded Portage store as well as the announcement of a new Valparaiso location to open in May.
