National Day of Prayer Breakfast Features Speaker Dr. Rob Haworth

National-Day-of-Prayer-2012Come out to the annual National Day of Prayer Community Breakfast on Thursday, May 3, 2012, at Strongbow Inn. Enjoy a full-plated breakfast while listening to speaker Dr. Rob Haworth, Assistant Superintendent of Valparaiso Community Schools.

The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance inviting people of all faiths to pray for the nation.

The program begins at 7:30 am, ending with a Benediction at 8:50 am.

Days of prayer have been called for throughout our history. Roosevelt called our nation to prayer before D-Day. Before the battle of Gettysburg, Lincoln turned to God in prayer. The founding fathers called for prayer during the Constitutional Convention.

Today, prayer is needed more than ever. Our nation faces not only battles but broken homes, child abuse, violence, sexual immorality and social strife.

"A scout is reverent. He is reverent toward God. He is faithful to his religious duties and respects the convictions of others in matters of custom and religion." -Study of Ethics and Character, Harris Interactive 2005
