Celebrate Easter 2014 with GracePoint

gracepoint-easter-2014Before you attend GP Easter this Sunday, we want to make sure that you know you are welcome to come as you are, and we are happy to have you visit us! People from different backgrounds, different cultures and different faith traditions have claimed to have felt quite comfortable at GracePoint. There is no pressure, no judgment and only an exciting expectation to connect with God when arriving for a service.

Sometimes showing up to church is intimidating. We strive to make sure you feel at home while at GracePoint. Our goal is to do everything possible to make sure that you have a GREAT first experience. Families drive from literally all over the region to come to GracePoint. With gas prices the way they are there must be some reason people keep coming.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Clothes. That’s the only thing we ask. We are much more concerned about what’s going on inside of a person, than what clothes they wear on the outside. If it makes you feel better, our pastor is usually in jeans. Feel free to come as you are.

DO YOU HAVE COFFEE?
Absolutely! Not only do we have coffee, but it’s TOTALLY FREE! We make it fresh before every service and is available at the GP Cafe in the main lobby as you walk in. Nothing like a little caffeine to get you going in the morning. We also serve some amazing hot chocolate if coffee isn’t your thing.

WHAT'S THE MUSIC LIKE?
We don't own a pipe organ. Our live band usually consists of guitars, drums, and keys. We try to sing songs that are deep in meaning, but easy to understand. We keep our lights low during worship so it's easier to think about and focus on God and not those around us. Don't feel as if you have to join in, but when you're comfortable, we hope you do! Sometimes it's good to just read the lyrics on the screen and think about the words of the songs.

Our services may or may not look and sound like church services you've been to before. It might just surprise you how great the music is! We do like the music a little loud, but if it’s too much, don’t worry, we provide awesome earplugs.

DO MY KIDS SIT WITH ME?
We offer dynamic children services from birth to 5th grade during the Sunday morning gathering. The creative environment and experienced teachers will help your children learn about God in a relevant way, as well as offer fun experiences that will help the teaching come alive in their hearts. We ask that all kids be a part of Adventure Land and not be a part of the main adult service. For more information read our Pro-Kid Attitude Policy found on the “Adventure Land” area of our website at GRACEPOINT.ME. This will help explain how much we love kids!

WILL I BE BORED?
We sure hope not! Church was created to be fulfilling and rewarding. We strategically plan weekend gatherings to engage your heart, mind and soul. We use music, video, powerful teaching and other experiential elements to help you connect to God in a meaningful way.

WHAT IF I HAVE MORE QUESTIONS ONCE I GET THERE?
We've created a special area on Sundays called the "VIP GREEN ROOM". It is designed just for YOU! We've created a special gift just for you upon your first visit. This is the place to connect with volunteers, meet the staff, ask questions, or simply say hello. If you have additional questions, please ask one of our friendly greeters when you arrive. We will be happy to help you! Each weekend, services are designed to be relevant, enjoyable and meaningful. Whatever your circumstances – single, married, single again, with or without children – and no matter where you’ve been or what you’ve done, you matter to God. And to us.

WHERE IS GRACEPOINT?
We currently meet at the Washington Township School along Rt. 2 in Valparaiso. We are 1.5 miles past the new movie theater and JC Penney’s heading east. Click the DIRECTIONS link under the “PLAN YOUR VISIT” tab on our website to see us on a Google map. We are a “mobile church” which means we set up everything we have every single week. Don’t feel sorry for us! It’s one of the things we love most about GracePoint. EVERYONE has a role in the story. We pull up the semi-truck in the parking lot at 5:00 AM and start unloading. And yes...it’s worth every ounce of energy - you’ll understand what we mean once you experience GP! :)

Hope to see you Sunday at GracePoint!
