Sometimes you have to fight for joy! Along with Christian thinkers like Augustine, Edwards, Lewis (and many others), I believe that followers of Jesus should be in pursuit of joy, and I also believe that joy is only found in the Person of God. How can we keep from becoming like Jonah - bitter, angry and cynical? Find out this Sunday.
Our friends Josh and Christy Reasoner are fighting for joy right now, as their 12-year old daughter Kaitlyn remains in ICU at the University of Chicago. My wife and I will be with them again today and our pastoral staff is surrounding them with love. Will you take a moment and pray for them today? Remember that in the fight for joy, being TOGETHER is one of the means of grace. Make worship a priority and be sure you have a friend in the community who will fight with you.
