Calvary Link: Staying Warm!

Calvary-Link-Staying-WarmIt's getting cold out, and I'm not quite ready for it. But I'm making plans to stay warm. I'll be reading by the fireplace, watching movies with my wife, playing board games with friends, and donning my warm winter wool!

Nothing keeps me warm like community. In fact, as I'm writing this, I'm hanging out with one of our staff members-talking, laughing, dreaming, and planning. Make sure you are in community, and make sure you are worshipping with the community every Sunday! It will warm your heart and soul!

I was just with Kaitlyn Reasoner this morning. What an inspiration to see her beautiful smile and her faithful perseverance in this difficult time. Keep praying for her!

Looking forward to Sunday already! Singing with you, hearing another message from Song of Songs, and staying warm together.

What's New at Calvary

Rock Solid Kids
Attention Calvary Family: Family Fun Night is THIS Friday, 11.14, at 6p! Invite your neighbors, family, and friends for an evening of fun and connection. We will have gym games, board games, movies, popcorn, music, and tons of fun! We need a few more volunteers to make this night a success. If you want to help, contact our Director of Children's Ministries, Victoria Evans-Peasley.

Generous Giving
Thanks to your generous giving this year, our church will be able to meet many needs for families in our community! In partnership with Aldi Foods, we are again supplying grocery gift cards. We want to be sure that our neighbors and those within our church receive the aid they need to provide for their families, especially at this time of year. If you or someone you know is in need this holiday season, please contact the church office 219-462-4026 or Lori Coslet at lori@calvaryweb.net.

Host Families Needed
When leaders from other parts of the country and the globe visit us here at Calvary, they become a part of our church community for however short a time. Families within the church are invited to extend a welcome and provide a sense of belonging by hosting our ministry partners, global leaders, and the future leaders who are part of our internship program. Hospitality to traveling believers is a service rooted in Scripture! Length of stay varies from a few days, a week, 3 months, and some remain for up to a year. If you would like more information on hosting or would like to sign-up for host family opportunities in the future, please contact Emily@calvaryweb.net.

Student Ministries
Student Ministries is partnering with Cru to pack Boxes of Love in Chicago. High school students will go Saturday, 11.22. We will pack boxes with grocery items so that families in need can make a Thanksgiving meal. In the afternoon, we will travel around the city for some fun! For more info and a list of items we're collecting, visit the HS Event page.

Give a Goat; Change a Life
Calvary is working with our local ministry partner Kids Alive to provide resources to children in need around the globe. You can give a gift of food, medicine, livestock, or other necessities to a Kids Alive family this Christmas season. We love how Kids Alive describes the assortment of items they have on offer: Gifts that make a powerful impact, spreading hope and joy! Pick up a gift catalog and order form from the Guest Services desk or go online to kidsalive.org/giftcatalog to choose a meaningful and life-changing gift.

Rooted Discipleship Class
In November, Calvary's weekly disciple-building forum has been exploring the topics and themes coming up in the Love Song sermon series. Join Pastor Jon Nitta each Sunday for a discussion on a solid biblical theology of human sexuality and an extended Q&A. Looking to plant yourself deeper in the faith? Get in on a Rooted discussion in room 403 from 9:30a-11a.
