Our family likes to keep it simple around Christmas. We put up a tree and some simple decorations. We make a list and buy a few presents (without feeling pressured to keep up with everyone). We give a little extra because we want to. We spend a little more time with family. We re-watch some of our favorite movies. We attend a couple of parties (without feeling pressured to say yes to every invite). And most importantly, we simply focus on Jesus in our worship, our reflection, and our prayers.
This time of the year is about Jesus. When we remember this, it will increase our joy. That is why I am a big fan of celebrating Advent with the church all over the world during the four weeks leading up to Christmas. It helps us focus on Jesus! So be here for Advent every Sunday, and if you are looking for a party or christmas musical to attend, check out some of the opportunities below.

What's New at Calvary...
HangTime in the Gym
Meet up with Calvary friends this Sunday, 12.7, at HangTime! Drop in after the 1st or 2nd worship service for a snack, some coffee, and conversation. The women's Guatemala mission team will have a table with photos from their early November trip. Stop by to ask questions and find out how Calvary is investing in the girls of Guatemala.
Looking for Host Families
When leaders from other parts of the country and the globe visit us here at Calvary, they become a part of our church community for however short a time. Families within the church are invited to extend a welcome and provide a sense of belonging by hosting our ministry partners, global leaders, and the future leaders who are part of our internship program. Hospitality to traveling believers is a service rooted in Scripture! Length of stay varies from a few days, a week, 3 months, and some remain for up to a year. If you would like more information on hosting or would like to sign-up for host family opportunities in the future, please contact emily@calvaryweb.net.
Calvary Kids' Christmas Musical

Give a Goat; Change a Life
Calvary is working with our local ministry partner Kids Alive to provide resources to children in need around the globe. You can give a gift of food, medicine, livestock, or other necessities to a Kids Alive family this Christmas season.
