I’m hearing stories about our Life Groups hanging out at Cubs, games, BBQs, the beach, restaurants, and even serving together in our city! Summer is the time when we can enjoy the beauty of the region with people who we are bonded together with because of the gospel! We’ve really tried to focus on building genuine community within our church this summer. Summer Life is a perfect example! For those who want to experience what a Life Group is like, our last Summer Life Night is tonight at 6p and word has it that dinner will be special!
For the men, there are a lot of events coming up this week and a big retreat later this fall. The last of the summer gatherings is tomorrow at Scott Rice’s place, and there’s a camping and canoe trip this weekend that you can still get in on. The “It’s Your Call” fall retreat with Gary Barkalow is 9.30-10.2.
Probably the early church in Acts felt the same sense of community when they gathered together to worship God corporately. This Sunday Dr. Jonathan Marko is continuing our series, The Way, and talking through Acts 17:1-15. He’s titled his sermon, “They Received the Message with Eagerness,” and I hope you’re planning to come with an eager spirit and an open heart!

Kids Hope
Outreach Opportunity - Calvary is excited to be partnering with Kids Hope and TJ Elementary School this fall. Kids Hope is "one mentor, one child, one hour each week." Will you give hope to a child this year by becoming a Kids Hope Mentor? A mentor must do four things: say the child's name, be faithful, believe in the child, and pray for the child.
