Calvary Link: Great Things

Calvary-CredoThank you for honoring my wife and me this past Sunday for our 20th anniversary with Calvary. God has used our church to do great things in Valparaiso, the region, and the world. And I believe God has even more great things for us! Right now our elders are spending a lot of time praying about our future. Our greatest challenge by far is how to keep up with the pace of growth we are experiencing as a church and ensure we can continue to grow.

Our elders have determined that we are going to need more space for nearly every area of ministry on our main campus. Some of the feedback that led to that decision came straight from you. So we have been talking with experts and doing a lot of praying. There is a big announcement coming for you in October just as work on the Life Change Center is being completed. Stay tuned.

I believe our church is capable of doing great things for God. We have a wise and experienced elder board, a capable, committed (and talented) staff, and we have hundreds of faithful, dedicated worshippers like you who make our church a great place to call home. Thank you for 20 years. Now in the words of the father of the modern missionary movement, William Carey, let’s attempt more great things for God and expect great things from God.

Hungry
Men need to have their hunger satisfied! That’s why we are gathering all the men of Calvary, high school and up, together on Saturday, October 21 from 1-7p. Plan to have your spiritual and physical hunger satisfied that afternoon.

Steven Osborn, senior pastor of Sierra Bible Church in Sonora, CA, will be leading us to God’s heart for hungry men. This day of discussion and training (and good food!) will both encourage and challenge you. To top it off, we’ll end with a man-sized meal. Bring on the barbeque!

Early registration ($20) ends this Sunday 10.1. After that, the price goes up to $25 for this awesome day of ministry and food. Register today!
