Come to the Central Park Plaza Market weekly to shop for fresh local produce, handmade products, and beautiful plants and flowers. The fresh produce will liven up even your favorite recipes or grab lunch on the go from one of the wonderful food vendors. Beautiful plants and flowers make great gifts for friends or just to enjoy at home!

The Park Central Plaza Market is located at the Central Park Plaza, 63 Lafayette Street in Valparaiso. Visit with local growers and craftsmen to buy plants in early summer and the freshest vegetables from summer through fall.

Summer Rhapsody Music Festival

This event is for all of the music lovers out there. The Summer Rhapsody Music Festival features many types of music from classical to jazz. Enjoy a feast of sounds for music lovers of all ages. Bring your picnic, blanket, and chairs and relax in the park with this nine-concert series. Admission is FREE.


Valparaiso Wine Festival
Saturday, July 18, 2015 in Central Park Plaza from 5-7pm (4pm VIP)

Wine lovers unite! Join us for the third annual Valparaiso Wine Festival. Sit back, relax, sip, and sample over 80 different wines from local, regional, and national vintners. This truly is a wine lovers dream! Sample wine while enjoying the live music and food for purchase.

All attendees receive an event wine glass and live entertainment.

Popcorn Festival
Saturday, September 12, 2015

Valparaiso Events

Celebrating its 37th year and named the “Best Festival of the Region” by The Times readers, the Valparaiso Popcorn Festival continues to offer family-fun activities for all ages. Over 250 arts & crafts booths, 30 food booths, kids’ games, five-mile Popcorn Panic, two live music stages and the nation’s first Popcorn Parade are only the beginning of the excitement of this incredible festival. Enjoy live entertainment on the Southshore CVA Main Stage from 12:00-6:30pm.

Pre-Event Week Activities Include:

  • Daily Lunch (11am-1pm) and Dinner (5-7pm) under the Orville Redenbacher Tent located in Central Park Plaza hosted by different local charities and businesses each day
  • Cutest Baby Finals
  • Hot Wheel "Race of Champions"


Valpo Brewfest
Saturday, September 26, 2015, 1 to 5 p.m. (12-1pm VIP)

Cheers to Ya! Craft beer fans we want YOU to join us for The 6th Annual Valpo Brewfest! The Valpo Brewfest is a celebration of great craft beer and the cool people that enjoy it. At this event you can sample over 125 different styles of beers. This is a craft beer lovers dream! The Valpo Brewfest will have beer from America’s best craft brewers. Which craft beer is your favorite? You can make your opinion known by voting for your favorite Indiana craft beer as we award the coveted HOOSIER BREW award to the top voter.

All attendees receive a sampling glass.

Fall Harvest Festival
October 16 & 17, 2015

Begin the weekend on Friday, October 16 with Trick-or-Treating. Wear your spookiest or silliest costume and go door-to-door in Valparaiso’s downtown to get some tasty treats from our restaurants and retailers. You can listen to live music, sit back, relax on a hayride, and take in the crisp autumn day downtown.

Visit Central Park Plaza for treats and fun in the park. Free Hayrides provided by the Valparaiso Parks Department.

Continue the festivities on Saturday, October 17 with the Valpo Parks Department 3rd Annual Monster Dash 1K. Register for this spooktacular Family Fun Run through the Valpo Parks Department to dress in your favorite costume and have a blast while you run through the course!

See for yourself why the Fall Harvest Festival brings in over 3,000 visitors to downtown Valparaiso each October!


Winter Events

Holly Days
Friday December 4, 2015, 5 to 7 p.m.

Downtown Valparaiso will come to life with the lights and sounds of the holiday season on Friday, December 4 from 5-7pm. Favorite holiday activities will center around the courthouse square with a live nativity display, free train rides and strolling carolers to give some holiday spirit.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will be at the Porter County Museum ready for picture taking.

Plan your evening to enjoy these downtown activities and stroll through the decorated streets of the downtown neighborhood to kick off your holiday shopping. Visit your favorite stores to enjoy their annual holiday open house. Dine at your favorite restaurant and see many of them outside with special treats just for you.
