Local Artist Donates Talent to Help Immanuel Food Pantry

run-into-fall-5k-art-2Local Copper artist, Greg Engel donated his time and talents to handcraft 34 copper medallions to be awarded to runners at Immanuel’s 2nd annual Run Into Fall 10K race on September 21st. The race benefits the Immanuel Food Pantry, part of the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana.

run-into-fall-5k-art-1The event takes place this Saturday morning, Sept. 21st at Immanuel Lutheran Church and School. The 10K race starts at 8:30 am. There will also be a 1 mile kids run, which starts at 8 am and is open to children up to age 14. Both the 10K race and 1 mile kids run are Calumet Region Striders Gold Cup races.

Hand crafted 8” copper medallions will be awarded to the overall male and female winners of the 10K race, 6” medallions will go to the top male and female masters winners, and the first male and female in each age group will receive 3” copper medallions. Custom die cast shoe medals will be awarded to 2nd and 3rd place runners in each age group.

All preregistered 10K runners will receive a long sleeved technical shirt and all 1 mile runner receive a tie dyed t shirt.
