On Friday evening, the VHS Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Miguel Rosario-Vega, VHS Director of Bands, presented an evening of beautiful music honoring American Music Icon, Glenn Miller. Emcee for the evening was special guest, Scott Cvelbar, Social Studies Teacher at Benjamin Franklin Middle School.
The evening performances featured 13 pieces consisting of some well know favorites of Miller, including At Last and In The Mood, along with some holiday favorites, Jingle Bells, and A Glenn Miller Yuletide Medley. The performance concluded with Moonlight Serenade as the band was treated to a rousing applause of approval from the young and young-at-heart.
The Valparaiso Bands Program will present their next concert on Monday, Dec. 15th, at 7:30 p.m in the Valparaiso High School Gymnasium when they present a holiday community favorite, This Is Our Story concert.
