Pop Culture and Comic Art Show set for Wednesday, January 21

2015-Pop-Culture-and-Comic-Art-Show-01Great art work and comic art come together at the Pop Culture & Comic Art Show. Calumet College of St. Joseph is proud to host this pre-event gallery exhibition to introduce artists who will be participating in the Northwest Indiana Comic Con in February.

The opening reception will be on Wednesday, Jan. 21 from 5-9 p.m. in the College’s Bernard Gallery. Among the many gifted artists are alumni Julio A. Guerra, Derek Horsley, and Chris Guzman, who has been featured on both WGN News and Fox news.

“Hosting this event at Calumet College of St. Joseph has so much meaning. This event brings awareness to the current students about the NWI Comic-Con. It reaches out to those whom might not have known about it. This show allows them to experience some examples of artwork from some of the people that will be at the convention in a more intimate setting. In all, this art show will appeal to many and open doors to those whom have always wanted to see this type of artwork,” said Mr. Guerra, artist and owner of La Guerra De Arte.

The exhibit will also feature an “Artist Row” which will feature the artists working on their artwork. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to talk to comic artists and see them at work.

The exhibit will run through February 13th.
