frontline-hooked-on-art-2015Frontline Foundations, Inc., a non-profit substance abuse treatment provider, is calling all artists for the Fourth Annual Hooked on Art – Live Street Art Festival. Held on Saturday, September 26, the Festival will feature live street art and a competitive chalk art competition to create unique and colorful creations in Downtown Chesterton over the course of a day.

“This year Frontline is hosting a Best in Show Chalk Art Competition with $2,000 in multiple cash prizes,” said Derek Frazier, Frontline Development Director. “And based upon juried selection, participating Chalk Artists and Live Street Artists may be eligible to receive a free 10x10 vendor booth.”

Winner of the 2014 R.O.S.E. award for Best Festival in Porter County, the family-friendly Hooked on Art event will be held once again at Thomas Centennial Park from 9-4pm. In conjunction with the European Market, Hooked on Art highlights live music, interactive kid’s activities, unique food dishes, and a silent auction of Frontline’s client artwork.

The registration fee to participate as a Chalk Artist or Live Street Artist is $35 if submitted before May 31 ($50 from June 1 through August 31). Individuals interested in being a Chalk Artist, Live Street Artist, Vendor, or both may register by downloading an Artist Application at www.HookedonArtFestival.com.

Chalk Artists are encouraged to create a 4x4 chalk piece to be judged based on audience engagement, creativity, quality, and originality. Participants must be 18 or older.

“Participating Chalk Artists will receive complimentary chalk art and priming material,” said Frazier. “Best of all, proceeds from the Festival benefits the Mission of Frontline that provides treatment and operations support.”
