Exhibitions open during regular gallery hours on July 18 and run through September 26, 2015.

Everything Looks Perfect from Far Away, will be on exhibition in the Hyndman Gallery, and will explore Fosberg's last 10 years of artwork in prints, drawings, paintings, carvings, sculptures and her gift for wordsmithing. This is Lora Fosberg's first solo exhibition at LCA. Fosberg currently lives and works in Michigan City, IN. She has exhibited nationally in group and solo shows at Museum of Contemporary Art (Chicago, IL), V1 Gallery (Copenhagen, Denmark), and Lokaal WV15 (Amsterdam, Netherlands). She is represented by Linda Warren Projects (Chicago, IL) and Jack Fischer Gallery (San Francisco, CA). This exhibition is sponsored in part by Carol Nasaw - Fine Art Consultant (Chicago, IL) and the gallery guide is sponsored in part by Linda Warren Projects.

CarolAnn Brown, Curator of Exhibitions at LCA states: "Known for her witty compositions depicting or referring to destruction or impending doom which are equally occupied with anecdotal subjects or feelings of hope and compassion, Fosberg makes an extreme sport of seducing her viewers with a mix of antic, grace and attentiveness. One continuing thread throughout her work and over the years has been her ability to author humor and poke at reality, man versus nature, urban versus country and the reality of hyper consumerism and its consequences."

In her first solo show at LCA, Andrea Peterson, provides an exploration of our region from the roots up. The work in Rooted, which will be on exhibition in LCA's Brincka/Cross & Northview Galleries, will focus on the trunks of the mighty beeches and oaks of Northwest Indiana. Peterson states, "Due to the sandy soil [in this area] the trees must reach out across the dune to be able to tower 300 ft. into the air. Their tenacity is profoundly beautiful and wonderful."

Peterson is one of the most respected expert paper making artists in the country. Her work focuses on new innovations and approaches to hand paper making and paper arts while utilizing indigenous plants and materials found in the region sponsored in part by the Indiana Arts Commission. Andrea is chair of the advisory board of The Friends of Dard Hunter, an international hand paper making organization and a member of the International Association of Hand Papermakers and Paper Artists (IAPMA). Andrea has exhibited internationally and nationally, her work can be found in many public and private collections.
