CSA Valpo Seeks Artists for Second Season

CSArt-logoFollowing a successful inaugural season involving 8 artists, an exhibit at the Porter County Museum, and 40 shareholders, Community Supported Art (CSA) Valpo is looking for new artists, craftspeople, and makers for their second season. Artists and makers who live and/or work in Porter County can apply to join the project and, if chosen, will receive a stipend of up to $1000 to create new work exclusively for the project. CSA Valpo Artists will be asked to produce up to 50 individual “shares” for the CSA Valpo program— only 50 shares will be sold. Shareholders will receive a package of 8 small works created by that season’s artists. Just like its namesake, Community Supported Agriculture (CSA), Community Supported Art Valpo aims to support local artists in the creation of new artwork, strengthen artist networks within the community, and connect interested buyers with local artists and makers.

Application guidelines are available at http://www.csartvalpo.com/for-artists/

SUBMISSIONS ARE DUE BY SEPTEMBER 15, 2015, and artists will be notified of acceptance by September 30.
