Call for Artists: Porter County Community Foundation to Commission Public Art Piece for New Center

Call-for-Artists-Porter-County-Community-Foundation-to-Commission-Public-Art-Piece-for-New-CenterThe Porter County Community Foundation in partnership with the Chesterton Art Center is seeking artists to submit proposals for the creation of a piece(s) of public art to permanently install at the Porter County Community Foundation Center for Community Philanthropy to be located at 1401 Calumet Avenue in Valparaiso.

As part of its Tomorrow Starts Today campaign, the Foundation is renovating a former medical building and creating the new Center for Community Philanthropy, which will house a nonprofit conference center and the permanent home of the Foundation. The Foundation is looking to display a piece of public art, a sculpture, near the entrance exterior of the facility. There is also room to incorporate benches and/or a bike rack in the adjacent landscaped area.

Applicants must be residents of the State of Indiana with a preference towards artists in the northwest Indiana region with demonstrated experience in creating public art works.

All applications must be received by 12:00 p.m. (noon) CST on December 1, 2015.
