Pines Village Retirement Communities is pleased to announce the 2nd Annual Artist In Bloom Exhibition that will showcase the work of some of Valparaiso’s emerging artists. In honor of Older American’s Month this special exhibit will be on display from May 2 through 29 at the Christopher Center Library at Valparaiso University.
Through an initiative that provides opportunities for older adults to contribute to the cultural life of the community, 29 local residents have been taking drawing and painting lessons at Pines Village, Meridian Woods and Village Park Enrichment Center at Banta. Last year, the artists were learning to draw, so the exhibit featured mostly drawings with just a sprinkle of paintings. This year, it’s the opposite. We are proud to present a year’s work of artwork in color.
On display will be the artwork created by these participants and include oil paintings, watercolors, pastels, acrylic paintings and pen & ink. The exhibit will be an inspiration to aspiring artists of all ages. For more information, contact 219/465-1591.
