Picasso on the Square Returns as Part of Valpo’s Growing Tradition

Picasso on the Square is a children's activity where children are given a bucket of chalk and encouraged to create their own work of art within a sidewalk square in front of the old courthouse lawn in downtown Valparaiso. Judges will select winning squares and prizes will be awarded to the artists. jano-concerts-on-square-logo

This activity is part of the Jano Concerts on the Square, a growing tradition in Valparaiso. The concerts are free to the public and more than 11 restaurants provide free food samplings. Dancing, socializing and children's activities complete the itinerary for the June 19 and July 17 festivals.

"In addition to the Picasso on the Square activity, we will have a moonwalk and Spongebob will be there as well," said concert organizer Jim Jano. All children's events are free, but donations are welcomed to benefit Cafe Manna and Valpo Parks.
