Chicago’s O’Rourke’s Pub in the ’60s and ’70s As Captured by Photographer Jack Lane

A cast of characters including neighborhood oddities, poets, painters, celebrities, and other notables populate Jack Lane's black and white photographs from O'Rourke's Pub. Located on North Ave., the bar was a Chicago institution in the 1960s and '70s. Jack-Lane-photographs

Lane's photographs include well-known faces such as Roger Ebert and Pulitzer Prize winner Tom Wolfe, but more importantly evoke the sense of camaraderie, diversity, and personality that marked the era and the "Saloon Society" of Chicago.
