Peanut Butter Blossoms Cookies by Porter Health System

Heart Healthy Recipe

Yield: 18 cookies

Portion size: 1 cookie

  • 2/3 cup (1 stick plus 2 Tbsp) reduced-calorie margarine, softened
  • 3/4 cup peanut butter
  • 3 tsp Splenda® Sugar Blend for Baking
  • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 3/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3 tsp sugar
  • 18 dark chocolate Hershey's KISSES®

Preheat oven to 375°.

Mix all ingredients together except sugar and KISSES. Roll dough into one-inch balls.

Spritz baking sheets with cooking spray. Place dough balls onto cookie sheets. Sprinkle with sugar. Press KISS into middle of each cookie.

Bake for about 10 minutes. Remove from baking sheet with a spatula and let cool on a wire rack.
