South Shore CVA Collaborates with Local Breweries to Launch Brewery Trail App

South-Shore-CVA-Brewery-TrailThe South Shore Convention and Visitors Authority recently launched the South Shore Brewery App, highlighting the northwest Indiana breweries featured along the South Shore Brewery Trail. The App is available in the App Store and on Google Play.

Nineteen breweries are currently featured on the geocentric app. It also features brewery websites, featured beers, location, hours of operation and more. Users are able to receive push notifications for special events, promotions and launches; search breweries by their location or by different styles and categories of beers. One-touch social sharing makes it easy to share the app on other social media platforms.

“The South Shore Brewery Trail App is the result of our Northwest Indiana brewing community working together to create something functional where people can access brewery information, notifications of bottle releases, special tappings, events and map their own beer trail. Many people travel to NWI for great beer, and the concept behind the app is for people to be able to access all the information they need in one place. We are continually working on developing new technology for more features down the road. This is an exciting first step in establishing NWI as a true destination for beer enthusiasts…or people just looking for a good place to grab a beer,” Kaitlyn Hendricks, Three Floyds Brewery commented.

“We are proud of our member breweries in Northwestern Indiana and thrilled that the South Shore Brewery Trail is highlighting their efforts to produce quality beer in such an approachable way. The new app has some great features, and we at Brewers of Indiana Guild are so pleased with it that we’re considering rolling out something similar to help promote all 100+ of our member breweries in the state,” said Tristan Schmid, Communications Director, Brewers of Indiana Guild.

The South Shore CVA can make updates in real-time and will add new breweries along the trail as they open. “We are able to send immediate updates through the push notifications – to further highlight special events or a brewery’s launch of a seasonal brew,” said Heather Becerra, Chief Marketing Officer for the South Shore CVA.
