Enjoy Food & Vintage Aircraft at Porter County Airport

mprentiss-2011-07-22_15:45:32-EnjoyFoodVintageAircraftatPorterCountyAirport1Once again EAA Chapter 104 is joining forces with the Porter County Pilots Association to sponsor a food booth at the Porter County Regional Airport. The food booth will be open daily July 22 through July 31 from 7 am to 6 pm, weather permitting. The daily menu will include hot dogs, brats, hamburgers, turkey sandwiches, sweet rolls, chips and fruit. Beverages offered are bottled water and sodas. Coffee, iced tea, and lemonade include refills.

A variety of aircraft will be flying into and out of the Porter County Regional Airport on their way to the AirVenture fly-in at Oshkosh, WI. The Collings Foundation’s World War II vintage B-17 Flying Fortress, B-24 Liberator and P-51 Mustang will be on display from July 25 through July 27. Walkthrough tours will be available for $12 for adults and $6 for children 12 & under. World War II veterans can tour at no cost.

Hours for tours are 2pm to 5pm July 25; 9am to 5pm July 26; and 9am to 12pm July 27. Historic flight experiences will also be available before and after tour times. B-17 and B-24 flights are $425 for 30-minutes. P-51 flights are $2200 for a half-hour and $3200 for a full-hour. Flights are a tax-deductible donation. For flight reservations call 800-568-8924.
