Hometown Festival Days bring over 10,000 people to downtown Crown Point, Indiana in June. This year’s 2012 Hometown Festival days will be bigger and better than ever!
Festival Days kick-off on Friday, June 15th and Saturday, June 16th with The Corn Roast. The Corn Roast hours are Friday 4-11pm and Saturday Noon-11pm. The popular band, Mr. Funnyman, will take the stage on Friday evening. On Saturday night another local favorite, The Retropolitans, will perform. A large children’s play area, plenty of delicious food and beverages, and the famous Shriner’s corn make this a family friendly party you will not want to miss! From 6am on June 15th until midnight on June 16th Main Street between Walnut Street and Clark Street and Joliet Street between Court Street and East Street will be closed to traffic.
Monday, June 18th the Hub Dollie Parade will take place at 11:00am starting at the bottom of the East steps of the Old Lake County Courthouse. Children are invited to bring their best dressed dolls for a fun parade around the Courthouse. Afterwards the children will receive treats and parade participation ribbons.
Friday June 22nd through Sunday, June 24th is The Taste of the Region and Arts & Crafts Festival. Friday & Saturday hours are 11am-10pm and Sunday hours are 11am- 6pm. The entire Crown Point Square will be closed to traffic to make room for many of the area’s finest restaurants, food vendors and arts & crafts exhibitors. Friday night the popular band Nawty will be the musical entertainment and Saturday evening The Muddsharks will be on hand to keep the Festival lively.
Friday, June 22nd the historic Marriage Mill Celebration will unite one lucky couple in matrimony. After the ceremony, couples can join together to renew their marriage vows. The wedding takes place at 6:00pm on the east stairs of the Old Lake County Courthouse.
