ElderStyle Valparaiso Sets July 8 for Ice Cream Social

ElderStyle Valparaiso invites you to an Ice Cream Social on Sunday, July 8 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m, at the outdoor Pavilion at the Valparaiso Family YMCA located on Cumberland Drive.

There is something special about every city and that character is why people love their communities. ElderStyle wants our older adults to share what makes Valparaiso special to them; the traditions, the landscapes, the people, the organizations all the things that brought families to Valparaiso and what keeps them here. The event will feature ice cream with all the toppings, catching up with friends and completing a quick Heart & Soul Interview. The interviews will be included in Valparaiso’s Communities for a Lifetime grant application.

ElderStyle Valparaiso is a consortium of members including the City of Valparaiso, Pines Village Retirement Communities, and other agencies and organizations committed to making Valparaiso a community of choice for older adults. Valparaiso is one of three communities in the state selected to receive a planning grant from the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority through its “Communities for a Lifetime” committee. The grant will help the ElderStyle Valparaiso Task Force determine how best to make Valparaiso a community for all ages. HealthLinc is the presenting sponsor for the 2012 ElderStyle Valparaiso events.

Parking for the outdoor Pavilion at the YMCA is located off Cumberland Drive, with additional parking available in the west lot at the Y. For questions, please contact Pines Village Retirement Communities at 465-1591.
