HessFest 2012 to Celebrate Life of Local Paramedic

HessFestIf you or a loved one has ever been rescued by a paramedic or EMT in the counties of Lake and Porter, IN, it was due, directly or indirectly, to a man named Don Hess.

Northwest Indiana's First Inaugural HessFest takes place this Sunday, July 22 from 3-8pm at the Northwoods Restaurant & Bar (www.nightwoods.com) 8101 Wicker Ave, Saint John, Indiana 46373.

Hessfest is a celebration of a beloved man in the paramedic and EMT community. Don Hess was an instructor and mentor to many heroes that currently staff our local fire stations and police precincts. He died last year at the young age of 51. Hessfest is to honor the life and impact Don had on so many. It is also to continue Don's impact by having all proceeds go to paramedic and EMT scholarships in the NWI region.

Many local businesses have donated products and services to Hessfest. The event will be filled with Don's friends in the firefighter and police communities, but is also open to the public. It is designed to be a very family-friendly event and all are encouraged to attend.
