Even after the torrential down pour on July 18, the Porter County Fair was up and running smoothly on the 19th. Attractions are spread throughout the fair grounds and will be enjoyed by all ages in the nine days to come.
By just walking through the gates, you will be shocked at the seemingly unending food trailers lined up in a row; the vendors are in constant competition with each other, though with all the crowds that come through, each gets enough business to share the wealth. Also, if you turn to the large building to your right after you enter, then you can browse through some shops, organizations, schools, crafts, animal care, and other community friendly businesses.
Though all of the above are very important to the Porter County Fair, carnival rides are the most popular. Various games are located throughout the heart of this entertainment area as well as a couple lemonade stands for those wanting to quench their thirst. You can also soar into the skies with the Bungee Trampoline provided for those with a taste of adventure.
Each day, astounding and unbelievable acts are speckled close to the 4H and animal barns. From death defying events to talent based acts, there is something for the daredevils and star hungry audience. Comedy sketches and brilliant illusionists are also found at the fair this year, so make sure to catch all of these FREE experiences!
Grandstand performances cannot be passed up because either inside or outside of the gates, everyone has an active involvement. Featured professions of all shapes and sizes are presented to awaiting spectators who wonder how these events are more than they could ever imagine. Luke Bryan (who performed opening night) and Larry the Cable Guy (set to liven up audiences with comedy July 21), two well known entertainers, grace the Porter County Fair stage with their presence.
